Why does context matter?

Our cultural and religious environment shapes our relationship with the Bible. Understanding these factors helps us accurately picture the Bible engagement landscape.

When we look at what food grows around the world, we see that the climate affects what can grow in different contexts. We think this is a helpful metaphor for understanding why context matters when thinking about global Bible engagement. The more we grasp the characteristics of a missiological climate, the better equipped we are to grow the fruit we all want to see. We hope the Patmos Clusters provide a shared imagination for Bible engagement, fostering collaboration and innovation to create a world where everyone can encounter the Bible.
